Blog No. 3

Since your assignment this week has been to write a "research paper," which, by the way, is due this Friday, July 23, I thought it would be timely to blog on this topic.
Have computers made it easier to cheat? My definition of cheating covers the following activities:

 • having someone else do your work

• copying someone else's work

• copying text and pasting it into an essay, research paper, etc. and not giving credit to the original author

• copying music, software, etc. without permission

• representing or misrepresenting yourself as either someone else or with different physical or mental capabilities

• becoming emotionally involved with a person other than your committed partner

So, do you think it is easier to cheat now? Or do you think that people who are going to cheat are going to cheat and those that aren't aren't?
Just wanted to know.

yes i think that people that cheat are just going to cheat either way it goes. i think they make it so easier now for people to cheat on the computers. i personally does not agree with it because i feel as if everybody need to learn how to do things for themselves and not copy other people work. some people just dont want to think for themselves, they want a easy way out and people have to learn that life is no easy lesson!

Yes I think cheating from computers is easier . I think so because computers takes half of the work that has be to done by hand away from doing it. Many peole have done it and gotten away with it and some not so lucky.

I too think it is easier to cheat with the advances of technology. Today, students rarely cheat the old fashion way with the small bits of paper, coughing/sneezing the answer, or writing information on the bottom of their shoes. Now students look up the information on the interent on their phones. I remember seeing one gentleman take a picture of a study guide to 'help' him on a test. In a relationship perspective, I have heard of several people that have multiple cell phones so that they may give out their number without their partner knowing. I do not agree with any of it. I remember one instructor told us one day in class, "Would you go to a doctor who cheated his way through medical school?!....You will need the information you are refusing to learn sooner or later down the road."

Yes, I do think computers make cheating easier. For once copying and pasting someone else work happen all the time without giving credit to the original author. With that being said cheaters are going to cheaters as long as they know they can get away with it they will continue to cheat.

Yes, I do believe it is easier to cheat, computers have alot of knowledge and are willing to give it out freely. I feel it is a good thing though, because sometimes there are things we don't know, and have to look them up online.

I think if a person is going to cheat it doesn't matter because they is going to cheat either way it goes. Computers have made it easier for people to cheat.

I think computers have made it a lot easier to cheat because all you have to do is pull up what you are looking for. On a computer you can have as many tabs going at once as u want and that would be the easiest way to cheat on the computer.

Yes it has made it easier to cheat in all areas. More in the relationship area than school field. It helps the other partner seek who they are looking for without the other knowing unless the other one has your password and know what sites you have been on. School on the other hand is different.Someone can do your homework, but who's going to get an A on the test. Computer can help you cheat it just depends on what all you except to get from it.

I think that computers have made it alot easier to cheat. To copy and paste is very easy even though most teachers get them for plagerism. But they have made it easier to cheat in all of those areas.

Cheating is made easier by the internet, but the individual must use his/her moral compass. The temptation for a some individuals is hard to resist, and others find it less attractive. It boils down to the individual in the end.

It is funny that this is the topic of todays discussion. I was just in the restroom and over-heard a student talking to his highschool buddy who said he was currently enrolled in a class for the second time because he was caught buying research papers off of the internet. He explained to the other guy how the website guaranteed that the papers were untraceable and would not be discovered as a "sold" paper, but somehow the teacher found it on the internet anyway and failed him for the semester. Computers most certainly make it easier to cheat, but with all of resources out there, computers also make it easier to get caught.

People are going to cheat regardless. computers make it easier for students to cheat. Students need to learn the information because in the long run it will catch up with them that they do not know the information.
